- Diamond Donuts
-
Install on a low profile box. Drill holes in your $200.00
storage tool box, not your $30,000.00 truck bed. Diamond Donuts are
machined from solid aluminum billet material. A deep groove is
machined into the donut to accept the cut end of the bed rail. Two set
screws are used to center the bed rail so it will be concentric.
Installation Process
-
Step 1: Measure from the center of
"stake pocket" to the tool box. In this picture
the measurement is 60 inches or 5 feet. Not all measurements are the
same. Be sure to check the distance between the tool box to the stake
pocket hole! Measure twice, cut once!!!
-
Step 2: Transfer the measurement
of 60 inches to the bed rail. Mark the end rail with masking tape or
freezer tape so when you cut the bed rail, it will help to make a
straight cut. In this picture, the ends of
the bed rails to the left are the drop-offs.
-
Step 3: Where to drill
the hole in the tool box? The bed rail parallels the bed of the
truck. Find the center to keep the rails parallel. The bed rail had
two pads and one end is now gone, so put the cut end of the rail into
the groove of the donut. Hold the pad end flat to the bed of the
truck. That will level the bed rail, so hold the donut firm to the
tool box and remove the bed rail from the groove of the donut. Now
take a pencil and make a mark through the bolt hole to the tool box.
Now drill the hole.
- From inside the tool box, take the stainless steel bolt and
stainless steel washer through the hole drilled in the tool box. Next
place the gasket over the threaded bolt and screw the bolt into the
donut. Have a set screw pointing to the inside of the truck bed. Then
install the bed rail as per manufacturers instructions.
